A new website, and Cmd+W closes the document

• In the desktop app, Cmd+W (Ctrl+W on Windows) closes the open document, like File › Close.

• The website has a new look, in every language: separate pages for using Golem Docs with your ai, every format it opens, pricing, a journal of what changed, and downloads, with a home page that shows the editor and an ai at work instead of describing them.
• The Files sidebar is now open when you start, on a screen wide enough for it. Close it, or choose View › Files Sidebar, and it stays the way you left it.

PDFs in their own fonts

• PDFs are shown in the fonts they were made with, the ones embedded in the file, instead of a stand-in such as Arial or Times New Roman, so a LaTeX paper looks as it does printed, sharp at any zoom.
• Desktop app: when a document's file changes in your vault folder while it is open, only what changed is updated, in place, without the page flickering. The new text is highlighted for a moment, and the caret and what you were looking at stay where they were.

Corrigido

• PDF Fill In and Edit PDF: a mark, shape or text box placed right after putting another one down is no longer lost.
• Text in a PDF that doesn't embed its fonts is shown in a serif font, bold or monospaced as the font's name says, for LaTeX's own fonts too, instead of all in Arial.

Closing means closed

• File › Close puts the open document away, leaving no document open, with buttons to start a new one or open another. The app stays that way the next time you come back.

Alterado

• Deleting the document you have open now leaves no document open, instead of opening the Welcome document, and so does going back to a document that is no longer there (instead of an empty new one). Welcome is only shown on your first visit.

I took the ai out

• Desktop and iPhone apps: your vault folder now holds every document as a real file, including PDFs (with your annotations, form fields and edits written in), pictures (with their layers drawn in), drawings, EPUB and MHTML. A file changed in the folder replaces the document, and your account keeps the earlier version.
• The built-in AI assistant is gone. To use AI with your documents, point an AI agent such as Claude Code, Codex or Cursor at your documents folder in the desktop app; what it changes syncs back like any other edit.
• The subscription is now $3 a month, and includes 25 GB of storage, version history included. History uses whatever space your documents leave: when the account fills up, the oldest automatic versions make room first. Versions you name are kept. The home page and the welcome document say so.
• When your account is full, a save that would add to it is kept on your device and the sync button says how to make room: delete documents or empty the trash. Edits that don’t make a document bigger always save.

Rename documents from anywhere

• Documents can be renamed from their card on the Documents screen and from their menu in the Files sidebar, not only while they are open.
• In the Files sidebar on a touch screen, holding a finger on a document or folder opens its menu.

• On a phone, a document can now be renamed: the menu shows its name at the top (tap it to rename it), and File › Rename is in the menu.
• The buttons under a document's card on the Documents screen are now all the same width.

Tables get a right-click menu
