Golem Docs - Terms of Service

These terms are the agreement between you and Golem Docs (golemdocs.com) for using the service. By using it, you agree to them. If you don't, please don't use it.

The service

Golem Docs is an editor in your browser for Word, PDF, Markdown and other documents, with optional accounts that store and share documents. We may change, add or remove features, and we may stop the service, though we'll try to give notice when that would affect your documents.

Your account

You can use most of Golem Docs without an account. To sign in, you use a Google, Microsoft, GitHub or Apple account. Keep that account secure: you're responsible for what happens under it. You must be at least 13 years old, and old enough to accept these terms where you live.

Your documents

Your documents are yours. We don't claim any ownership of them. You give us only the permission we need to run the service for you: to store, copy and display your documents to you and to the people you share them with, and to back them up. That permission ends when you delete a document or your account.

You're responsible for your documents and for who you share them with. Anyone who has a share link, or whom you've invited, can open the document at the access level you gave them.

What you may not do

Break the law, or use the service to store or share content that is illegal or infringes someone else's rights.
Try to break, overload, probe or gain unauthorized access to the service or other people's accounts and documents.
Use the service to send spam, malware or anything meant to harm others.
Use automated means to create accounts or to load the service beyond normal use.

We may remove content, or suspend or close accounts, that break these rules or put the service or other people at risk.

Your responsibility for your files

Golem Docs converts documents between formats, and a conversion may not preserve everything. Keep a copy of anything important, and check the result before you rely on it. Files saved only in your browser are lost if you clear your browser's data.

No warranty

Golem Docs is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don't promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or that nothing will be lost.

Limit of liability

To the extent the law allows, Golem Docs and the people who run it are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost data, profits or revenue, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the twelve months before the claim, which is zero for a free account. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you in full.

Ending things

You can stop using the service at any time and ask us to delete your account. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms or if we stop offering the service.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. If you keep using Golem Docs after a change, you accept the new terms.
