Work on documents together, live

Share a document and everyone who opens it edits the same copy at the same time. You see changes as they happen, and each person's name and cursor. Sharing needs an account. Editing and downloading never do.

Sign in to share

Golem Docs works fully without an account. When you want to share or sync, sign in with Google, Microsoft, GitHub, or Apple. We ask each of them for only your basic profile, and we never see your password.

Share with a link, or with people

Choose Share from the File menu.

• Get Link makes a link to your document. Anyone who opens it works on the same document, live.
• People lets you invite specific people by email and choose whether each can edit or only view. They need to have signed in to Golem Docs once.

Editors and viewers both see changes live. You can remove someone at any time.

Live editing

Changes appear as people type. Everyone in the document sees each person's name and cursor position, so it is clear who is working where. Edits to the text, formatting, and tables of a Word document are shared as you make them.

Your documents follow you

Signed in, your documents are saved to your account and open on any device. Each change is still saved in your browser first, so it is instant and safe offline, and uploaded soon after. Each account's documents are kept in a database of its own, and the files are kept in encrypted cloud storage.

Signed out, everything stays local

Without an account, your documents live in your browser's own storage and are never sent to us. File ▸ Open shows all of them. Download All saves everything you have kept as one ZIP, any time, no account needed. On a shared computer, use Clear Local Data when you're done.

Every document is a real file that belongs to you. Download it in its own format, or convert it to another one, with no account.
