Make Golem Docs look and feel the way you want

Golem Docs borrows the calm, familiar layout of Word 2003, with its menus, toolbars, and dialogs, and then lets you make it your own: color schemes, dark mode, toolbars, and eleven languages.

The Word you remember

There is no ribbon to hunt through. Menus are where you expect them, with the keyboard shortcuts and underlined mnemonic letters you already know. Dialogs are modelled on Word 2003's:

Color schemes

Choose a scheme from the View menu. Golem is the default, in the orange of the app's icon. Office 2003's Silver, Blue, Olive Green, and Grayscale are here too.

Light, dark, or automatic

Every scheme has a dark version. Set the appearance to light, dark, or Match System, which follows your device. The choice is kept in your browser, and even this website follows it.

Toolbars

Turn each toolbar on or off, or choose Customize to arrange them. There is a Full Screen mode when you want nothing but the page, and on a phone the menus and toolbars fold into a drawer and an overflow menu.

Your language

The whole app is translated into Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese (Brazil), Russian, and Spanish, as well as English. Golem Docs picks the language your browser asks for, and the Tools menu changes it. Menu shortcuts adapt to each language.

Zoom and view

Zoom to a percentage, to page width, or to the whole page, or show all pages in a grid. Formatting marks, Print Layout, and a Normal view that reflows to the window are one click away.

Keyboard first

Press F1 for the list of shortcuts. Choices such as your scheme, language, and toolbars are remembered on your device, not in the document.
