Edit pictures in your browser

Drop a PNG, JPEG, or WebP onto Golem Docs and it opens as a picture you can crop, correct, mark up, and save. Nothing is uploaded, so screenshots and photos stay on your device.

Open a picture, or put it in a document

Drop an image onto the window and Golem Docs asks what to do with it: insert it in the document you are working on, or open it as a picture of its own. GIF, BMP, and SVG files open as pictures too, and save as PNG.

Fix and reshape

The Picture menu has the everyday tools.

Rotate and flip: rotate left, right, or 180 degrees, and flip horizontally or vertically.
Crop: drag the handles for a free crop, keep the original proportions, or crop to a shape.
Resize: set the width and height in pixels, and keep the proportions if you like.
Adjust colors: brightness, contrast, and saturation, with a reset.
Auto Levels: one click to even out a dull photo.
Effects: grayscale, sepia, invert colors, blur, and sharpen.

Mark it up

The Draw toolbar turns a picture into an annotated one. It is made for screenshots.

Pen and highlighter for freehand marks.
Line, arrow, rectangle, and ellipse, with an option to fill shapes.
Text and speech bubbles.
Numbered markers, for walking through steps.
Move to reposition something you drew, and eraser to take it away.
A color picker and four line thicknesses, from thin to extra thick.

Undo steps back through your changes.

Hide sensitive details

The Redact tool pixelates part of a picture, which is handy for names, numbers, and faces in a screenshot.

Save in the format you need

Download as PNG for a lossless copy, JPEG for a smaller photo, or WebP for the web. JPEG and WebP compress, so they trade a little detail for size. You can also put a picture on a page: convert it to Word or PDF and it becomes a page with the picture on it, with nothing lost.

Going the other way, converting a document to PNG, JPEG, or WebP makes a picture of its pages.
