Open huge text and log files
Most editors choke on a 50 MB log file. Golem Docs opens it. Files of 8 MB or more open in a viewer built for the size, so you can scroll, search, filter, and copy without freezing your browser.
What opens this way
Plain text, log files, CSV, and TSV files of 8 MB or more. Smaller files open as ordinary documents you can edit.
Built for size
- Instant to open. A line index means the first lines appear right away instead of after the whole file has loaded. In our tests, a 51 MB log with 500,000 lines showed its first lines in about a tenth of a second.
- Smooth scrolling. Only the lines on screen are drawn, however long the file is.
- Search and filter. Find every match, or filter the view down to just the lines that contain your text.
- Go to line. Jump straight to a line number.
- Select and copy. Select lines and copy them.
- Level colors. Lines in a log are colored by level, so errors and warnings stand out.
- Wrapped lines. Wrap long lines, or turn wrapping off with Alt+Z or the button in the status bar.
- Text size. Make the text bigger or smaller.
- Download the original. Get the exact bytes back.
Private
The file is read in your browser and stays on your device. Nothing is uploaded.
Good to know
The large file viewer is for reading and searching. Editing and saving a file this size isn't available yet. For a smaller file, or to work on part of a log, use an ordinary document or convert it.
